Boksen is misschien niet de eerste sport waar u aan zou denken bij de ziekte van Parkinson.

Uit onderzoek is gebleken dat het een hele geschikte sport kan zijn voor mensen met de ziekte van Parkinson. Bij boksen combineert u het verbeteren van uw uithoudingsvermogen met het (leren) maken van bepaalde bewegingen en stoten.
Hierdoor kunt u uw balans, spierkracht en daarmee de motorische vaardigheden verbeteren.

Bokstraining volgen betekent overigens niet dat u de ring in moet: de training voor mensen met Parkinson is meestal een vorm waarbij geen echt contact wordt gemaakt.
Dit maakt het voor de meeste mensen toegankelijker en prettiger. De boksles duurt 1 uur en zijn op dinsdagochtend en donderdagmiddag.
